MONDAY OCTOBER 5th 2009

Attend Region 1/2/3 Lobby Day!

This autumn offers a unique opportunity for meaningful and historic health care reform on the federal level. As the nation’s largest independent medical student association, we cannot miss this monumental opportunity to help shape the environment in which we will serve our patients and practice medicine by lobbying federal legislators in Washington, DC on October 5, 2009.

Make your voice heard on health care reform!

Register by clicking here

On Lobby Day, each participant will meet with his or her legislators and/or legislative staff. Prior to these meetings, participants will learn more about AMSA’s health care reform priorities as described in the 2009-2010 Legislative Agenda, the current state of federal health care reform, and strategies for effective lobbying.

For more information on AMSA’s Health Care for All Campaign, please visit http://www.amsa.org/uhc/.

Join medical students and doctors in talking to your legislators about healthcare reform. Our Senators and Representatives are right now engaging in discussions that may change the fate of our profession, and as AMSA has had a voice in reform for over 60 years, we invite you to be a voice in the future of your profession. Since our inception, AMSA has worked for our now number one Strategic Priority: Quality, Affordable Health Care for All. Health care reform is arguably the issue of our generation, and this is your chance to make your voice heard face-to-face.

**Lobby Day training will be held Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Conference hotel. Lobby Day itself will be held on Monday, Oct. 5 in Washington, DC**

Students must provide their own travel to Washington, DC to be present on October 5th. AMSA national will make appointments on Capitol Hill and provide lobby training.
